Activity 1: My Resarch

Jesse initially following tutorials for an abstract, circular graphic. This was to get the base work to later build on it. After working with some peers, Jesse was able to expand on his learning to create abstract blobs that could move around at a particular pace. This is Jesse playing around with the settings of the graphic and adjusting the range of values to prepare to connect it to the Arduino Shield. Once the Arduino Shield was connected, Jesse began to configure the elements within Touch Designer to ensure they connected properly. After turning the knob, the visuals became more blurred, with the knob affecting the values of the graphic to create the effect.

Activity 2: My Research

The initial projection mapping was done with a projector within AA1A. We just initially wanted to test getting the projection to connect to the computer. We placed the box down as the projector was facing downwards, but we actually ideally wanted the box to sit upright, as the bottom of the box in the photo is supposed to be a wall. Steve redirected us to another projector in the corner that we could wheel over and was standing upright, so we connected our project to that. This is Jesse helping with setup and angling the projector correctly. I set up the projection mapping using an in-class tutorial with notes I had saved, and we tested the projection against the back wall and the floor.

Additional Research or Workshops

We did research on multiple articles of what to include inside the Sensory Pod. After doing research, we began creating moodboards to get a general feel of what the layout of the pod would look like. We also did extra research after taking notes from our peers.

This is an image of the layout of our pod and what will be included inside it after our research. This is just an image reiterating the final product of this round of prototyping after we figured out everything with the Arduino and Touch Designer.
